Carp Without Cars

I have an unfortunate announcement to make: Due to concerns about COVID-19 and the recent stay at home order issued by the state, I’ve decided to cancel this year’s Carpinteria CBC. More details are in the email I just sent to participants, a copy of which can be read on our CBC page.

I’m very grateful to everyone who put so much into preparing for the count, and share their disappointment. I’m looking forward to next year, when I hope we’ll be able to come back stronger than ever.

Our next Carpinteria Birdwatchers meeting will be another quick meeting to prepare for the upcoming Carpinteria Christmas Bird Count (CBC). In this meeting we’ll go over how to use eBird to share your sightings, as well as how to fill out the CBC “effort form” and how to use the day-of spreadsheet on count day. The CBC will take place on Saturday, December 19, 2020; the meeting to prepare for it will be on Thursday, December 3 at 4 p.m.
