The best part of my birthday walk to the marsh was this song I heard coming from a myoporum bush next to Santa Monica Creek where it runs under Carp Avenue.

I was pretty sure it was a warbler, but I didn’t recognize the song. The singer turned out to be a Townsend’s warbler, and he let me stand right under him and record him (and the passing cars) with the Voice Memo app on my phone.

Carpinteria moonrise, 2016-03-22

I walked to the marsh and back after work as a special treat for my birthday.
